“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” - John F. Kennedy, Former President of the United States of America. When the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, made the above statement years ago, little did he know how much impact it will have throughout the world. It is not surprising, therefore, that when the visionary Director of Brainy Bairn School dreamt of contributing to his nation’s development; he had the backing of these touching words resounding in his mind from time to time. Today, he has, by the Grace of God, seen his dream, Brainy Bairn School, come to fruition. On the 13th of January, 2009, Brainy Bairn School opened its doors to the community. With only one child, the preschool department began regular formal academic work on this day. As the days went by, parents from within and outside the neighborhood trooped in to enquire about admissions and also to admire the school’s beautiful edifice. These visits translated into enrollments and by July of the same year, the school had enrolled a sizeable number of children. By September 2009, significant class sizes had emerged and the school was set to rub shoulders with schools that were already household names. The school was on the path to growth and impressive improvement was noticed in its everyday activities. It did not come as a surprise, therefore, when parents and stakeholders, after a few years of operating, suggested that we venture into primary and secondary education to ensure the continuity of the good work that the preschool had already began. The Board of Directors considered this advice and by the Grace of God, the piece of land opposite the preschool department was acquired for the expansion of the school’s now ultra-modern primary and secondary campus. In the afternoon of July 16th, 2011, the primary school was officially inaugurated. The ceremony was two-fold; the official opening of the primary school and the graduation of the reception class of the preschool to enter into Year 1 of the primary school. Formal academic work for primary school officially started on Tuesday, September 10, 2011. Two years on, September 2013, the first batch of the school’s well-groomed primary students entered secondary school and this began another successful and exciting phase of a school that is set, by all standards, to bring a different meaning to education throughout Ghana and the world at large.
